A little piece of Paris has landed in Potts Point, with Franca officially open for business. The highly anticipated, modern brasserie is the passion project of Andrew Becher and Alex Cameron, located at the old Fratelli Fresh site. Approachable and unpretentious in nature, it’s backed by a hardworking and innovative team.

Industry heavyweights Alexis Besseau (Bathers Pavilion and Est.) and Jose Saulog (Glass, Tetsuya’s) have created a menu spanning various regions in France and neighbouring Mediterranean coasts. On offer are traditional brasserie dishes with a twist, where French cooking techniques and hyper-seasonal ingredients come together in harmony. Standouts include Yellow-Fin Tuna with colatura dressing, Spanner Crab Tagliatelle and Apple Tarte Tatin.

Franca’s cocktail list pays tribute to Parisian brasserie culture, with a focus on seasonal ingredients and classic French cocktails. Over on the wine list, guests can expect an eclectic mix of French, Australian and New Zealand drops, with an emphasis on small-production wineries and sustainable producers and rare-aged wines.

The fit-out is inspired by the brasseries of Europe, with Steel and Stitch creating the light, bright space with custom furniture. The finished look is sleek and sophisticated with a comfortable charm. Glamorous undertones and pops of colour can be seen throughout, channelling the Parisian charm that influences the restaurant.
