Byron Bay fashion brand Spell & The Gypsy Collective is revered for its bohemian bent. Co-designer Isabella Pennefather has a similar free-spirited approach when it comes to entertaining.
Table Dressing
I’m into brass cutlery at the moment, and I’m on the search for a complete set for our new house. I also love Moroccan glass lanterns with flickering candles. They are a lovely touch.
Decor Notes
Fairy lights are a must, as well as flowers and leaves picked from the garden, and a few extra candles for ambience.
Sweet or Savoury
Salted caramel. I like to cover all the bases! I often serve a salted caramel rocky road from a chocolate shop in town, and it’s amazing. Creme brulee and brownies are other options. I love a good cheese platter, but never for dessert.
Drinks Order
Coffee – never tea – and cocktails. Anyone who knows me knows that I’ll probably be making margaritas for any get-together.

Guilty Pleasure
My husband, Dougall, is an incredible cook. His pork belly with herbs and spices is good enough to inspire late-night snacking.
Transporting Tunes
Our USA road trip playlist is a great soundtrack. It includes tracks from Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Fleetwood Mac, Iggy Pop and The Eagles.
Game On
We love to play Yahtzee. But after dinner we can usually be found sitting outside around our fire pit, dancing and singing to the music.
Sunset Beach
A great time to start a dinner party is an hour before the sun goes down, so you get to see that beautiful change from dusk to dark. There’s no finishing time, but we all have kids or babysitters to get home to, so it can’t go too late.
