Guests at the home of Grandiflora extraordinaire Saskia Havekes can expect perfumed tablecloths, beeswax candles and blooms galore.
Budding romance
Magnolia is my signature flower, and we spray Magnolia Grandiflora Sandrine on the tablecloth edges. It’s dewy and citrusy and makes everyone relax.
Table Accents
Zsolt Faludi dinner plates, Lobmeyr Trinkservice glasses, vintage Dinosaur Designs vases, and white damask linen with a floral weave.
Bright Ideas
I prefer to light a room solely with beeswax candles from my friend [creative director] Tony Assness. They give off a beautiful aroma and the light is the kindest.
Cheese or Chocolate
I love to serve a cheese board with Heidi Farm gruyere, Holy Goat La Luna and a roquefort. It’s paired with Tolpuddle pinot noir.
Go-to Dessert
I am lucky to be able to call on Nadine Ingram from Flour and Stone bakery for one of her crowd-pleasing apple tarts.

Divine Digestifs
Champagne is a fine way to start and end a meal. Perrier- Jouët Belle Époque rosé is the elixir of angels. I also love botanical Seedlip with soda and elderflower.
Warm Tidings
Pear Blossom Organic Tea from Anthia Koullouros at Ovvio. As amazing is Tribe’s lemon myrtle, ginger and rose Mayde Tea.
Sonic Style
Jazz. If you give a guest a glass of champagne while Miles Davis’s Kind of Blue is playing then all will be well.
Wrap Up
My favourite part of the night is after dinner, when candles start burning down and only the fragrances linger in the air.
