And they taste exactly like the original.
Great news for the coeliac crew today with the announcement that Arnott’s has at long last introduced gluten free Tim Tams. The biscuit giant has slowly been creating gluten free versions of their most popular products like Mint Slices, Tiny Teddies, Shortbread Cream and Chocolate Ripples.
Now, there’s finally a gluten free Tim Tam on the market. The biscuits come in a pack of seven and retail for $5.50. This is compared to the regular version which has 11 biscuits and costs $4.50. They don’t come cheap but anyone who’s been missing their Tim Tam Slam knows it’s worth forking out the extra coin. At the moment the gluten free Tim Tams are only available in original flavour but there’s no harm in a little wishful thinking.

A spokesperson from Arnott’s told news.com.au that the increased cost was due in part to the separate facilities required to ensure the new range stays gluten free. “In order to deliver a quality Gluten Free biscuit that not only doesn’t compromise on taste but adheres to the strict FSANZ (Food Standards Australia New Zealand) Food Standards Code requirements surrounding a no detectable gluten claim; our Gluten Free Tim Tam is made on a separate gluten-free line using a combination of high quality, gluten free ingredients which come at a higher cost versus original Tim Tam flavours.”
But enough of the medical mumbo jumbo, where can we find these tummy-friendly chums? Gluten free Tim Tams have started appearing on shelves at Coles, Woolworths IGA’s and other independent retailers but production is ramping up and there will be greater availability come November.
