‘Tis the season for feasting and whether you’ve been planning for months or minutes, we’ve got everything you need for stress-free celebrating in our December/January issue.

Sweetly spiced treats are always a hit this time of year, which is why we’ve put together a special feature on whimsical ways with gingerbread. Alongside your traditional gingerbread house and Christmas-sweater clad gingerbread people, you’ll also find recipes for an enchanting snow-topped tree and a festively filled edible advent calendar (trust us, it needs to be seen to be believed).

For the main event, we’ve covered off on all the Christmas classics (hello turkey and ham) served with show-stealing crusts, glazes and stuffings. If you’ve been asked to bring a side, Shannon Bennett lends a hand with golden gratins, while Matt Moran steps in with fresh salads and vibrant vegetable dishes.

For a less traditional Christmas spread, Shannon Martinez shares her ultimate vegan menu. Dishes like berry pavlova, gingerbread eggnog and ‘meatloaf’ en croute couldn’t feel more festive if they tried  – just make sure there’s enough for the non-vegans too.
