delicious. on Sunday reveals top chefs secret kitchen hacks

Del-on-Sunday-Nov-20

Cooking is about to get a whole lot easier.

For the thirteenth issue of delicious. on Sunday, which appears in Stellar magazine, we surveyed top chefs and food experts for their ultimate cooking hacks. Our cover story, “When It’s OK To Cheat”, looks to boldface names including Luke Mangan, Danielle Alvarez, Scott Pickett, and Luke Nguyen for advice on turning a few pantry staples into mealtime magic. Hold the takeaway, and check out this story for ideas.

Staying on theme, Silvia Colloca creates a weekly meal plan using just a handful of cupboard items. Canned tuna, cannellini beans, spaghetti, quinoa and sausages are all given the Colloca treatment, resulting in five appetising dishes. Meanwhile, in his regular column, Matt Preston explores 10 classic Australian food items, including devon, lamingtons and Chicken Twisties, which are impossible to explain to foreigners. Let’s just tuck in and be proud of our idiosyncratic food, he writes.

delicious. on Sunday also includes the latest news and reviews for each state on the eastern seaboard. In this week’s NSW edition, Anthony Huckstep reviews Fred’s in Sydney, the long-awaited restaurant from the Merivale group. Megan Miller visits Gingerboy in Melbourne, which recently added Sunday brunch. Anooska Tucker-Evans reports on Cutty Sark in Brisbane, a new riverfront eatery with a focus on seafood with a Spanish twist. (All the reviews live on delicious.com.au.)

delicious. on Sunday appears in Stellar every weekend. Stellar is available in The Sunday Telegraph in New South Wales, the Sunday Herald Sun in Victoria, and The Sunday Mail in Queensland.
