Those coriander Doritos are now being sold for $580 on Facebook

Doritos-Coriander

Supertasters, stay away.

You might have seen that The Big Cheese of the corn chip world has launched new Coriander Doritos, inspired by the world’s most hated herb. Just 500 packs of the divisive chips were produced and it turns out, if you’ve still got one you could be sitting on a herby goldmine.

The packets are being sold on Facebook Marketplace for upward of $580. Really.

The flavour is described by Doritos as being “deliciously fragrant and indulgently soapy”. Doritos is encouraging fans to try the flavour and answer the age-old question, “does coriander really taste like soap?”  Hopefully, the answer is no because soap is not exactly what we want from our TV snacks.

Vandita Pandey, Chief Marketing Officer ANZ, PepsiCo said: “We’re excited to see the reaction of chip-lovers from across the country as they try our super-limited-edition Doritos Coriander. We know some Doritos fans are going to love it, but we also know some will hate it – our legendary triangular corn chip is ready to put tastebuds to the test.”

With the taste of coriander being one of Australia’s most divisive flavours we want to boldly launch the flavour in chip form and see if coriander really does taste like soap. Will it be a sensational hit or a soapy miss? Let us know your thoughts and tag us on social.”

Launching today, Doritos Coriander is super limited edition and not available for purchase. A limited number of packs will be exclusively available via a giveaway hosted on Doritos Instagram page. To participate and have your say in the debate head over to @doritos_aus and share why you love or hate coriander*.
