MasterChef Australia will get its third major shake-up, with three new judges set to take over the popular primetime program.
Channel Ten has announced that fan favourite Melissa Leong will not return for the new season, but she will remain in her role as host and judge of Dessert Masters.
A Channel Ten spokesman said: “Melissa is set to return for a second season of Dessert Masters in 2024, alongside fellow judge and pastry prodigy Amaury Guichon.
“Next year, MasterChef Australia and Dessert Masters will air back-to-back, therefore each show needs its own distinct style and personality and its own unique hosting team.”
Joining Andy Allen for Season 16 will be MasterChef runner-up Poh Ling Yeow, Michelin star chef Jean-Christophe Novelli and Melbourne food writer and presenter Sofia Levin.
Yeow was runner-up to Julie Goodwin in the first season of MasterChef Australia. Since leaving the show she has published three cookbooks and starred in two TV series, Poh’s Kitchen and Poh & Co.

Yeow says she cannot wait to get back into the MasterChef kitchen. “Talk about a thrilling, full-circle moment. MasterChef Australia is where my food story began, so this feels like coming home. A big part of me will always be standing on the other side with the contestants and I hope when they look to me, they see proof you don’t have to win to win.”
Jean-Christophe is no stranger to the limelight, having featured in many reality cooking shows from Chef Academy Bravo to Celebrity X Factor, Top Chef USA, as well as MasterChef Holland and Junior MasterChef UK.
The renowned French chef has been awarded multiple Michelin stars while working at Gordonton Mill in Hampshire, the Four Seasons in Park Lane, and Maison Novelli in Clarkenwell Green and Mayfair. The chef runs his own Novelli cooking school in Hertfordshire.
