That's the way the cookie crumbles - or is it?

We’ve all been there. You’re eagerly reaching for a delicious, perfectly round Oreo cookie, only to find that it’s tragically broken. Whether it’s a result of a too-enthusiastic dunk or a less-than-tender shelf stacker, the sight of a fractured Oreo can be a heartbreaking moment for cookie lovers. And while you may be tempted to fall into despair, don’t panic. Oreo has just introduced a game-changer in cookie repair: the Kintsugi Oreo cookie fixing kit.

Inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi – a technique that celebrates and highlights imperfections by mending broken pottery with gold – Oreo has taken a creative leap to address this very first-world dilemma. The kit campaign is a stroke of genius, turning the frustration of broken cookies into a delightful DIY experience. Instead of tossing those shattered Oreos into the bin (your mouth), you can now transform them into a treat worthy of admiration (before putting them in your mouth).

At the moment, the limited-run Kintsugi Oreo has only been sold in Mexico, but a broken bikkie is universal, so here’s hoping.

The kit includes tubes of Oreo cream that serve as your very own cookie glue and a pack of Oreos – presumably ones with a bumpy shipping route. Simply squeeze, stick, and press the pieces back together. It’s a fun, hands-on way to repair your cookies while embracing the art of imperfection. The cream acts as the “gold” in your Kintsugi masterpiece, turning each repaired Oreo into a unique, bespoke snack.

Oreo’s Kintsugi kit is more than just a novelty; it’s a celebration of resilience and creativity, and a sign of the adversities you’ve overcome (go, you!). Even broken cookies deserve to shine.
