The French chicken burger

Add thyme to the butter. Serve with Dijon mustard and mayonnaise, topped with melted Swiss cheese. Use butter lettuce only.

The alpine chicken burger

Make burger as per the recipe, but top with caramelised onions and blue cheese. No lettuce, but add spinach if you need greens.

The Welsh chicken burger

Serve open-faced on a crumpet topped with slowly cooked leeks. While still in the pan, top with a slice of Welsh cheddar, Caerphilly or tasty.

The disco chicken burger

Cook as above, but serve topped with slices of Brie and a dollop of cranberry sauce.

The Thai chicken burger

Add finely chopped coriander to the butter and serve with Asian slaw and fresh Thai basil.

The Californian chicken burger

Use turkey bacon, coconut oil instead of butter, and serve in iceberg lettuce cups with toasted coconut.

The Canadian chicken burger

Add a drop of liquid smoke and two drops of Maggi seasoning to the butter. Serve with a fried egg and toss bacon with a little maple syrup for the last two minutes of cooking.
