It's a very small step to becoming more green.

In a bid to bolster recycling efforts and promote environmental sustainability, the Coca-Cola brand has announced a significant change to the packaging of classic Sprite bottles.

This year, Sprite will replace its iconic green bottles with clear ones across all pack sizes of bottles in PET plastic packaging within Australia.

The decision to shift from green to clear bottles comes as Coca-Cola recognises the challenges posed by the colouration of its packaging.

In case you didn’t know, green bottles are more difficult to recycle compared to their clear counterparts, primarily due to the additional pigments used to achieve the green hue.

By opting for clear bottles, this is one small step toward assisting in the recycling process by the Coca-Cola company, which has been named as the single worst plastics polluter in the world five years in a row.

The rollout is planned to be complete by August 2023.
