Meghan Markle has placed Prince Harry on a detox diet

Prince Harry detox

Farewell party prince, hello wellbeing warrior.

Prince Harry may once have been dubbed the ‘party prince’ for his lively social life in years past, but it seems that the father-to-be has curbed his uninhibited ways for good ahead of the birth of his first child. The British royal has seemingly been placed on a detox diet by his wellbeing-focused wife the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.

News.com.au has reported that the former party boy is now on a ‘daddy detox’ courtesy of Markle that has seen him focused on a cleaner, greener regime. The 34-year-old’s new lifestyle has seen him embrace clean-eating wholeheartedly, turning away from his long-held vices of cigarettes and alcohol. To top it all off, he’s now also caffeine-free, and meat-free, in-keeping with Markle’s preference to eat vegan throughout the week.

The Mirror UK reported that Prince Harry is now eating “less meat and more fruit and veg” since marrying Markle. “Meghan is a keen animal lover and likes to eat vegan during the week and she has a strict no-fur policy. She has also been encouraging Harry to eat less meat and more fruit and veg and is now keen to fully convert him to her views on hunting,” an insider told the website.

But it’s not just Prince Harry’s diet that has seen a radical shift, but his workout routine. Daily meditation and yoga are now a part of his everyday schedule, or so he revealed to Buddhist monk Kelsang Sonam on a recent trip to Birkenhead. It’s no real surprise that the prince has embraced the duo of popular wellbeing practices considering Markle is a long-time fan of yoga, and her mother Doria Ragland is an instructor. In fact, the soon-to-be-parents are proving so dedicated to their new hobby that rumour has it they have requested a floating yoga studio at their new home Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.

While Prince Harry’s intentions are no doubt admirable, we’re intrigued to see how it all plays out considering his family’s booze-loving reputation. After all, even his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II sounds like she can drink us under the table.
