Do you have a bit of a cheese habit? You’re not alone. But those devoted to the dairy can kick their fixation up a notch courtesy of Tasmanian cheese experts Bruny Island Cheese Co. The producers are now allowing for the adoption of custom-made wheels of Raw Milk C2 – the only raw-milk hard cheese currently being made in Australia.

How does it work? Well during the months of May and June, Bruny Island Cheese Co allow for the adoption of hefty 4kg wheels of cheese made exclusively from their dairy. After the cheese has found its parents, the producers will be doing all the hard work for you (and updating you along the way).

“Once adopted, each cheese will have your name carved into the side of it as well as its date of birth. We will even send you a beautiful birth certificate and portrait photo of your newborn to stick on your fridge and admire daily!,” explains Bruny Island.

“Throughout the next six months, while we do the hard work of carefully maturing your cheese, regularly turning and rubbing it, we will also send you updates of how your wheel is coming along. Then, when it reaches perfection in early December, when we will deliver it to your door – just in time for Christmas.”

Each final creation will weigh between four and five kilograms and last for several weeks after opening. You can order your own wheel of Raw Milk C2 online now.
