#girlsonfire: This is the secret to a successful bartending career

WOHO

Best pay attention if you've ever fancied a job behind the bar.

There’s far more to bartending than simply pouring a drink. These days the career can be an illustrious one with the potential for industry accolades, world travel, and even fame. But stepping foot into the world of bartending, and making your mark within the industry, can be a difficult maze to navigate. This is where WOHO step in – the organisation spawned in an effort to support women in hospitality (as its name suggests) which is now working to encourage and inspire ladies intrigued by bartending careers.

As a part of the organisation’s latest series of industry events, a special dinner will shortly be held on November 7 in the private dining room of Bloodwood Newtown. There head bartenders at Earls’ Juke Joint Jemima MacDonald and Elle Charalambu will join the restaurant’s Claire Van Vuuren to lead a discussion on the world of bartending, sharing tips, advice and stories to empower women interested in the career. The evening is designed around open discussion, where question and debate from all attending is encouraged.

Tickets for the special event are $75 and include a banquet, as well as wine and beer. Bookings can be made via info@bloodwoodnewtown.com.
