Bounty hunters, listen up!

You may have seen some disturbing headlines recently regarding the disappearance of the beloved Bounty bars from supermarket shelves.

We also felt the cold, sinking dread but don’t you worry your chocolate-deprived head – it’s only a temporary dearth and the coconut-filled choccie will be back before you know it.

Supply line issues are the culprit for the MIA Bounty bars, which are imported from Europe, with shoppers struggling to find the sweet treat in major supermarkets and taking to Reddit and X to vent their frustrations.

The voice of the masses simply stated, “Where are all the Bounty bars?”

“Every time I go to Coles or Woolies, I can’t ever find them. I went to Big W and the only area they had them was in the grab stands at the registers. Are they being discontinued or something?” another poster asked on Reddit.

The lack of Bounty bars sparked concerns that parent company and manufacturer Mars had axed the underrated, delicious chocolate after the company confirmed late last year that the Dark Chocolate Bounty bars would not be making a return.

Fears have been alleviated though, in a statement to news.com.au. “Our much-loved Bounty is not going anywhere, however, due to capacity constraints at our factory where Bounty is produced in Europe, Australian consumers may be experiencing stock shortages in some areas of the country,” a Mars spokesperson said.

Stocks are expected to return to normal by mid-June but in the meantime, try your hand at making your own blueberry ‘Bounty’ bars here.
