A quirky new creation promises to stop gluttony in its tracks.
Let’s be honest – despite the importance of portion control for weight management, there are few of us that can resist the temptation to enjoy another mouthful. Recognising that self-control around food is not that common a skill is a new invention designed to put you back in the driver’s seat when it comes to portions – the Full Stop Bowl.
Based on the knowledge that your brain takes about 20 minutes to tell your stomach that it is full, the Full Stop bowl aims to bid adieu to our gluttonous ways, teaching us instead to eat only until we are full. Modelled on the true portions of the human stomach, the bowl is designed to hold the same volume of food as it’s inspiration.
For full effect, the Full Stop Bowl instructs users to eat a serving of food that fits in the designated portion, then to avoid touching food for 20 minutes. As the company explains of itself: “It’s not a diet – it’s a way to think about just how much food you need to feel full. To make sure you eat just that amount, and no more. So when you are full, you stop.”
