Full of happiness.

If you’re like us, mangoes are flooding your social media feed right now. An adorable mango ice cream called Propitious Mango is the internet’s latest food obsession, but it hasn’t been so easy to find in real life. Until now

TikTok users in both Australia and the US have been tracking their months-long (even years-long) search to find the sweet golden treats, sharing their delight when finally cracking through its white chocolate shell to reveal a creamy mango ice cream centre. But now you just need to head down to your local Woolies, with news that the supermarket giant will be stocking the ice cream in three flavours: the OG mango, as well as peach and lemon, which are equally realistic in shape, colour and flavour.

As big fans of mangoes, and ice cream, the delicious. team recently went on a hunt of our own to find the previously elusive dessert – and to find out if it really lives up to the hype.

Open the fridge doors at World Square’s Gong Grocer and you’ll find Propitious Mangoes individually packaged in orange cardboard – with the slogan ‘full of happiness’ – under plastic domes. Removing the packaging is an effort in itself, but once you have you’ll discover a very realistic mango, albeit slightly smaller than your classic Kensington Pride.

Bite through its thin yellow-and-orange white chocolate shell to reach the smooth and creamy mango ice cream that’s not too soft, not too hard – nor too sweet. It tastes like the mango pancakes you find at every good yum cha restaurant and a little like a Weis bar (but in a much more fun shape). There are no mango chunks, and the ingredient list is void of mango itself, but it certainly tastes like the real deal.
