WOHO is putting on the works at Indu for the annual female-first affair.
Female-first group Women in Hospitality (or WOHO for short) first launched in late 2017; the not-for-profit was founded on the premise of helping to guide women through the ups and downs of the hospitality realm. Evidently a momentous occasion for the group is International Women’s Day, which is around the corner, landing on March 8.
It seems fitting then that WOHO will be hosting a foodie fantasy in celebration of the occasion. Joining forces with Sam Prince Hospitality, the partnership will see a decadent breakfast held alongside a hospitality-related forum, all the while raising money for the Palmera Foundation.
Hosted at inner-city Sydney haunt Indu from 7.45am, the Sri Lankan-inspired breakfast will explore the topic ‘Turning A Passion Into Reality: Female-Founded Hospitality Start Ups’. “Welcome to the village and enjoy a Sri Lankan breakfast this International Woman’s Day at INDU,” the event explains of its intentions. “Join us as we co-host a brand new event to honour woman internationally working in the hospitality sector. Get ready to celebrate this important day with our partners Women In Hospitality and Palmera.”
Four inspiring women will be hosting the event. Across the course of two hours, guests will have the chance to talk shop with this quintet of successful ladies, who include celebrated chef Christine Manfield, food consultant and founder of Straight From The Source Tawnya Bahr, Palmera CEO Abarna Raj, and Chrissy Flanagan, the founder of Chrissy’s Cuts and The Sausage Factory.
Tickets to WOHO’s latest event are available online at $59 per person, with all profits from every ticket donated to Palmera and their projects.
