delicious. August issue on sale now

For-Matt

Australia's best premium food magazine – and your favourite read – is out today and you won't be disappointed.

delicious. puts its finger on the pulse in the latest issue of the magazine, riding the cutting edge of the here and now and charting the food and lifestyle trends that are taking Australia and the world by storm. We’ve put together an expert panel to list 2016’s top 50 food, drink, travel and style trends and the result is a veritable snapshot of the zeitgeist.

Elsewhere in August’s trend issue, which is now on sale, Matt Wilkinson looks at why Australian olive oil is taking over the world and award-winning food bloggers David Frenkiel and Luise Vindahl show us how to pack superfoods into smoothies – a perfect marriage of trends if ever there was one. Never one to run with the herd, Matt Preston tackles food fads head-on.

Meanwhile, we follow Heidi Finnane to Colorado’s Rocky Mountains and national restaurant critic Anthony Huckstep to the Sunshine Coast, where he gets a little (spanner) crabby. The Huck also reviews Nathan Sasi’s Mercado, which he applauds for the patience and maturity of its approach.

You’ll not be left wanting for recipes, either. Nutritionist and TV chef Zoe Bingley-Pullin shares her tips for creating a healthy but hearty winter sharing menu, Jamie Oliver shares green dishes to lighten up your family’s dinner table, and Warren Mendes urges us to reduce preparation time and food waste by using whole vegetables. You won’t be able to go past our cover recipe, either: Senior Food Editor Phoebe Wood’s ultimate Snicker’s pudding.

Colin Fassnidge and Anthony Puharich go head-to-head in a burger challenge, the chef presenting a nose-to-nail specialty and the butcher a classic cheeseburger. (We’ve included the recipes so you can try both.) Bar H power couple Hamish Ingham and Rebecca Lines offer up an array of recipes utilising native greens and other botanicals, in anticipation of their new vermouth bar and bistro, , which opens at Sydney’s Barangaroo in September. Valli Little takes a good hard look at the return of mince to the menu and Sweden-based food writer and photographer Simon Bajada at the Scandinavian influence on how we eat.
