March went by quickly, April was grey, but in a few days… it’s gonna be May.
Ahhh May. As well as bringing our annual opportunity to giggle uncontrollably at the aforementioned Justin Timberlake meme, it’s the month when the leaves begin to change and that autumn weather settles in for the long haul.
Our annual Slow Cooked edition isn’t just about taking it slow in the kitchen. It’s a reminder that now is the perfect time to stop and smell the roses, or the fragrant Goan coconut lamb curry… as case may be. It’s a reminder to switch off your notifications, take a deep breath and simply appreciate the good things.

And there are plenty of good things in this issue. From Yotam Ottolenghi’s berry and brown butter toast crumble, to Ellie and Sam Studd’s French onion soup with Bruny Island C2 cheese toast, you’ll want to take your time and savour every single page.
