The World’s
50 Best Restaurants, the food Oscars, come to Melbourne on April 5. To mark the occasion, this week’s delicious. on Sunday, in Stellar magazine, caught up with Brett Graham, the highest-ranked Aussie chef on the list. Graham helms The Ledbury in London, a rarefied restaurant in Notting Hill pegged at No. 14 in the world. The Ledbury is known for its wildly imaginative plates and months-long wait for a table, but the Newcastle native remains remarkably humble. “If I got bent up at not being a certain ranking [on the list], that’s not where I want to be,” he says.

In our weekly meal plan, Matt Moran consults his passport for cooking inspiration. The result is a worldly cluster of recipes, from fregola pasta to chicken katsu, that skip from Sardinia to Thailand, India to Japan for exotic flavours. In his regular column, Matt Preston explores the latest food trend – vegetable pasta. Preston writes that parsley, beetroot, spinach and pumpkin pasta are easy to replicate at home, and you don’t even need a pasta maker. It’s a perfect Sunday activity with kids.

delicious. on Sunday also includes the latest news and reviews for each state on the eastern seaboard. In this week’s NSW paper, Anthony Huckstep checks out NOLA Smokehouse and Bar, a New Orleans-style eatery at Sydney’s Barangaroo. For the VIC edition, Dan Stock sidles up to the bar at Henry Sugar in Melbourne’s Carlton North. In QLD, Anooska Tucker-Evans ventures to the highly regarded Wasabi in Noosa.

delicious. on Sunday appears in Stellar every weekend. Stellar is available in The Sunday Telegraph in New South Wales, the Sunday Herald Sun in Victoria, and The Sunday Mail in Queensland.
