Messina’s has just launched its annual Christmas Coma trifle, and this year’s over-the-top creation is guaranteed to knock you out until 2022.

Last year, the ice-cream dream team put together a tropical-inspired coconut creation, this year they’ve decided to go with a chocolate hazelnut theme.

The new ultra-luxe Messinatella semifreddo trifle is filled with dense layers of Messinatella crémeux, chocolate mud cake with Messinatella fudge, caramelised white choc mousse, choc coated puffed rice and candied hazelnuts, vanilla cream chantilly, hazelnut semifreddo and choc hazelnut crumble.

It also comes with a handmade white choc gold sheet and milk choc hazelnut globe filled with oozing Messinatella that you add at the table.

But don’t pass out just yet, there’s more. Along with the trifle, you’ll also receive a litre of Messina brandy custard and a bake-at-home gingerbread and dark choc chip cookie pie.

Each trifle feeds 20-30 people and is priced at $230, with pick up between December 21-24, during store opening hours.
