The domestic goddess is back.
It’s been undoubtedly a big few years for culinary queen Nigella Lawson. In between plenty of personal dramas, and a handful of TV appearances, the talented cook has found time to welcome another cookbook into her growing book family.
The book, At My Table, is set to land this September. “It’s subtitled ‘A Celebration of Home Cooking,’ and while I admit all my books are indeed a celebration of home cooking, all of us who write about food have our themes and this is mine,” she said in a blog post on her site.
This book is about far more than simple recipes though. “‘Our lives are formed by memories, and the focus of mine is the food I’ve cooked and the people I’ve cooked for, the people who have sat at my table, as well as the other tables I’ve eaten on, from the blue Formica of my childhood to the mottled zinc that is the nexus of my life now,” she said. “This book, like all the books I’ve written and all the cookery books I’ve read, is not just a manual, but a collection of stories and a container of memories.”
As to what we can expect within its pages, there’s a chicken and pea traybake, apple pork chops with sauerkraut slaw, fennel and carrots with harissa, Victoria sponge with cardamom and crème fraîche, white chocolate cheesecake, and emergency brownies among others.
Notice anything familiar about the title? Yes, that’s right, it seems great minds think alike, and Nigella’s At My Table shares a similar title as our own cookbook, At Our Table. But because we love her so much we’ll let this one slide…
