In episode one she makes a lasagne without onion or garlic.
One thing you may not know about Paris Hilton is that she’s a really amazing cook, or so she says in the introduction to her new cooking series, Cooking with Paris, which premiered on YouTube this week.
“As you all know – well, maybe not all of you know – but those who do know, know that I’m a really amazing cook,” she begins by saying.
“Today, I’m going to teach you guys how to make lasagne.”
The surprisingly low-budget episode shows Paris throwing together some packaged ingredients, and complaining about everything the entire time.
Like many cooking shows, the episode starts with a list of ingredients. However, unlike those same shows, it fails to disclose the measurements or quantities. In fact, two of the most important ingredients on the list – onion and garlic – don’t even make it into the dish.
Paris takes the time to share a few cooking hacks with viewers, including how to blot the meat with a wet paper towel when you’ve added too much salt.
She also shares her appreciation for pre-shredded mozzarella, admitting that regular mozzarella is “annoying” and that she hasn’t used a grater since childhood.
The recipe also calls for a tub of ricotta, which prompts Paris to muse on the different types of cheeses available today.
“There are so many different types of cheeses now that it’s not normal, but it’s cool.”
Four minutes in and it’s time for a photoshoot, with Paris inviting viewers to join in by hashtagging #chefParis, which viewers most definitely did.
“Finally a cooking show where the chef is totally grossed out by everything she’s doing. Cooking is inherently disgusting and Paris is the only one telling the truth!” one viewer commented.
Another offered, “I’m in love with what a mess this is.. she’s cooking with fingerless gloves on, hair down, sleeves down, and keeps bitching about everything that requires effort lol.”
“Lol I can’t tell if this is real or she’s joking and just parodying herself.”
Viewers are already calling for more episodes, with one suggesting she make steak and salad next time.
