Monarch or fast food mogul?
Queen Elizabeth II is not only the reigning Monarch of the United Kingdom, but a burgeoning fast-food business owner. Surprisingly, the royal is the owner of one of Britain’s McDonald’s franchises.
The fast-food restaurant sits 130km outside of London as a part of the Banbury Gateway Shopping Park, all owned by the Crown Estate. Of course this means that the takeaway store isn’t the monarch’s personal property, but it is owned by Sovereign in the right of the Crown. This also means all of the profits from the McDonald’s goes towards the Treasury.
The Banbury Gateway Shopping Park, which opened in 2015, also houses an Ed’s Easy Diner and a Primark, which the Queen also technically owns and profits from.
Fancy royal fries with that?
