Fit for a queen.
As much as we all love our nan’s Christmas pudding, aren’t you at least a little bit curious to try the Royal Family’s recipe?
A few years ago, The Royal Bakers shared the Queen’s annual Christmas pudding recipe with the common folk, via the Royal Family’s official Instagram.
The accompanying post read: “Today is Stir-up Sunday: traditionally the day when home cooks ‘stir up’ their Christmas pudding mixture on the Sunday before the Advent season – and the countdown to Christmas – begins.
“Chefs in the Royal kitchens have shared their recipe for a traditional Christmas pudding. We hope that some of you enjoy making it in your own homes.”
The recipe is fairly traditional, with the addition of three types of alcohol – beer, brandy and dark rum – which is a little bit different from the usual brandy/sherry. The recipe is also accompanied with a step-by-step tutorial, so you don’t muck it up at home.
