1 lunch = 25 meals donated to the community.
If you’re guilty of hitting up your local café for lunch a little too often, you probably know that the average Aussie spends $12.41 on their midday meal.
However, if you were to pack a sanga instead, that $12.41 could be used to feed up to 25 people in your community. That’s the idea behind Shout Lunch, a bring-your-own-lunch day, set to occur on September 19. Established by the team behind Feed Appeal, the event encourages you to gather your workmates for a group feed, while donating your daily lunch fund to those in need.
Taking part in Shout Lunch can be as elaborate as a potluck party or as simple as a few sandwiches in the park. To register your event or for more information, head to shoutlunch.org.au.
