Prince Charles' favourite foods are seriously aristocratic

Prince Charles

Grouse anyone?

Much has been speculated when it comes to the dining habits of Queen Elizabeth II, but as for her son Prince Charles, that’s another story. But recently, the press shed light onto the Prince’s eating habits and they are nothing if fitting choices for a member of the British aristocracy.

Speaking recently to Country Life Magazine,  Prince Charles admits that pheasant crumble pie was a favourite of his. In the publication he even shares his preferred way to cook it at home; “I got this recipe from someone I know. It is delicious,” he comments.

Evidently a fan of a traditional hunt, the Prince also revealed that he not only loves pheasant but holds a soft spot for grouse. In fact, he tends to cook with the bird quite a bit, experimenting with it in dishes including Greek moussaka. He continues: “I invented a grouse one recently, coq au vin with grouse, as well as moussaka with grouse. It doesn’t always have to be lamb, in other words, groussaka!”

While Prince Charles’ favourite foods may not be that surprising, his preference for foregoing lunch could be. He told the magazine that he simply prefers to skip it. Also rather unusual (for a Brit anyway) was how he takes his tea; Darjeeling with a splash of milk and (shockingly) honey.
