A 23-year old from Perth is crowned by Maggie Beer and Matt Moran.
An extravagant croquembouche has impressed before, and last night the impressive layered dessert of profiteroles sat on top of a chocolate mud cake, levitating its creator to the lofty heights of being the first-ever winner of The Great Australian Bake Off on LifestyleFOOD.
Fashion stylist Sian Redgrave last night won in the show’s finale as she proved to be a star baker in the final Showstopper challenge. She beat Jasmin Hartley, a 26-year-old from Mackay, who turned out an elaborate three-tiered wedding cake complete with caramel popcorn and white chocolate shards. Another finalist, 45-year-old Suzy Stefanidis created an ornate gingerbread church, which even came with an edible engagement ring (Matt Moran tried it on).

After her win, Sian said: “It’s been an amazing experience and I feel so thrilled about winning. I hope that I keep doing my fellow contestants proud as they’ve all been wonderful people and I’ve learnt so much from them and the judges on this journey.”
As well as earning the title of Australia’s Best Amateur Baker, Sian’s Italian Cheesecake Brownie recipe will be featured in delicious. magazine’s March 2016 issue.
Hosted by comedians Claire Hooper and Mel Buttle, THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN BAKE OFF became the highest ever-rating show on LifeStyle FOOD and inspired amateur bakers across the nation. Now producers are looking for more of Australia’s finest home bakers to take part in the next series.
