It’s the supermarket staple that has saved us from at least one cooking disaster, and now you can get it in rocky road flavour.
The new mud cake mash-up is made from a raspberry-chocolate cake base topped with chocolate ganache, marshmallows and shredded coconuts.
It’s not the first time the supermarket giant has gone rogue with its mud cake recipe. In previous years, the bakery team has experimented with a choc orange, cookies and cream and choc mint version, all of which sent mud cake fans into a meltdown.
Woolworths Category Manager for Bakery, Chris Chase said: “We know our customers look forward to the limited edition mud cake flavours we sell every year and this time, we wanted to create something exciting that combines our popular mud cake with a much loved Aussie treat.

“The result is a decadent mud cake that has sentimental meaning to Australian households with the scent of raspberry and coconut topped with marshmallows combined with the rich, chocolate flavour reminding customers of a decadent rocky road dessert.”
The Woolworths Rocky Road Mud Cake will be available to purchase for $5.50 from June 1 from all Woolworths stores nationwide.
