The supermarket is offering two budget-friendly meal packages to take some of the stress out of the big day. Words by Claudia Poposki.
As we head into the party season, one major supermarket is helping customers impress their dinner party guests effortlessly. Woolworths has announced it has developed two menus that will feed a dinner party of either eight or 10 a luxe three-course dinner.
The $75 package feeds 10 people three courses, including a whole chicken roast, goat’s cheese and caramelised onion arancini, truffle polenta chips, pork knuckle, three side dishes of mixed veggies and for dessert a pavlova base, cream and frozen berries.
A second menu, priced at $118, serves eight people a three-course meal, and includes a 4kg half-leg ham, boneless chicken rolled roast, a cheese and salami platter, a salad, and two sides of roast vegetables with garlic and rosemary, as well as dessert of a fruit pudding, custard and gold white chocolate and macadamia tarts.

“Christmas is a special time of year to celebrate with loved ones and share great food, and as Today’s Fresh Food People we play a special role in helping customers create and enjoy those little moments,” Woolworths Food Company managing director Guy Brent said.
“We spoke to our customers around the country about what they want from Woolworths this Christmas and repeatedly heard they don’t want to compromise on the indulgent food items that make the season special for them, but want to ensure they get great value,” he said.
In addition, the supermarket has released 90 new products in time for Christmas, including new Woolworths Gold roasts and sides that can be put in the oven at the same temperature.
“From today, customers can choose from more than 90 Christmas products in store and online, the majority of which are Australian made, that will help them create a memorable dining experience,” Mr Brent said.
“Our Aussie Christmas range this year is also more convenient, with a number of our Gold dishes that can all bake in the oven at the same temperature to streamline the cooking process, or roasts that come in oven-ready trays, meaning an easy clean up for a fully prepped centrepiece,” he said.

New products from NSW supplier Buonissimo Bakery include a Lamington inspired Woolworths Gold Chocolate, Coconut and Raspberry Yule Log, and Woolworths Mini Salted Caramel Tarts.
Desserts for those with dietary requirements include the Woolworths Plantitude Cocoa Dusted Truffles and the Woolworths Plantitude Meringue Nests.
“This is just the start, with more new products to hit the shelves in the weeks closer to Christmas,” Mr Brent said.
“However our customers plan to celebrate this year, they can find great value, fresh food, and convenient options at their local Woolies.”
