American hotdogs, consider this your warning.
If you’ve ever been to New York – or, frankly, seen a single film that’s set there – you’ll be aware of the classic hotdog vendors. Blue-and-yellow umbrellas, steaming carts, and hot dogs piled high with mustard and sauerkraut on every corner.

Instead, New Yorkers are lining up for a true-blue Australian classic: a sausage sizzle.
Think a slice of Wonder White, a Woolies snag, a generous squiggle of tomato sauce and a heaps of barbecued onions. Yes, the number one reason people go to Bunnings (the sausage sizzle) has landed in the Big Apple.
Well, technically, it’s taken over a small stretch of sidewalk outside Old Mates – the very viral Aussie pub in Manhattan’s Financial District – but we love to see this culinary treasure making it big in The City.
