You won’t believe it but a diet avocado now exists

Avocado light.

And it's called 'Avocado Light'.

Australia has a somewhat unmatched addiction to the avocado. Sure the ingredient has been famously blamed for the younger generation’s inability to buy a house, but that’s had little influence over Australia’s continued passion for avo on toast. And now there is even more reason to tuck into the tasty breakfast dish, with a diet version of the avocado in existence.

The Avocado Light has just been invented by Spanish brand Isla Bonita. The avocado claims to have 30 percent less fat than the original fruit, which is a fact that has been tested and approved by Spanish heart-health authorities. As an added bonus, as a human invention, the avocado is able to be grown year round, ripens faster and oxidizes at a slower rate.

But whether the mild taste of the Avocado Light can replace the standard avocado remains to be seen. At present Australians will be unable to see for themselves as the diet is currently only available to Spaniards. But no doubt, if the ingredient proves popular, the Light Avocado will be spread on toast and topped with feta Australia-wide in no time.
