The delicious. editorial team share their favourite old-school delights. While none of these will make a delicious. cover anytime soon (or appear on instagram), we think there’s nothing wrong with an occasional blast from the past. Spoiler alert: apricot chicken did not make the cut.

Kerrie McCallum, editor-in-chief. I love cottage cheese; I eat it like a dip and get serious cravings for it!

Shannon Harley, managing editor: I recently served rockmelon wrapped in prosciutto for my Mum’s 60th birthday party because she loves retro food (hello smoked mussels), and now I do too. It’s the perfect salty-sweet combination – the original salted caramel!

Matt Preston, senior editor: Surely with the current obsession with croissants, the return of the puff pastry cups filled with creamy mushroom or chicken will be next!

Phoebe Wood, senior food editor: Spinach and cheese pull-apart bread Bakers Delight and also ICE MAGIC! Oh, and those chocolate wafer cigars sold in tins at Christmas time.

Warren Mendes, food editor: Bring back the original double gelatine dessert.

Sharnee Rawson, online news editor: Something magical happens to a prune when you grilled it and wrap it in salty cured meat. Bonus points for filling it with roquefort.

John Hannan, content producer: Anything covered in chocolate is good and it’s basically fruit right? So it’s good for you.

Heidi Finnane, chief subeditor/features writer: Deliciously fishy and surprisingly scrummy when spread over butter ladened white bread. And retro food I never want to see make a comeback… Alfredo – yuck, gross, gag

Josie Taylor, senior designer: I would love to see a return of the cob loaf. Our family went through a massive phase of having them at family functions in the early 90s. So daggy and delicious!

Caitlin Griffith-Pecset, editorial coordinator/assistant digital producer: I don’t even know if Delifrance (so chic) is still a thing but their cheese twists were amaze.

Kirsten Jenkins, stylist: Cracked pepper cream cheese roll thing…..it was a seriously big deal on our ‘entertaining’ cheese plate back in Cronulla!
