Year of the Vegan?
There’s always been a select handful of vegan-friendly eateries, but 2016 will go down as the year when fine dining caught up. Silvereye, the degustation-only Chippendale hot spot, will add to the fray with a just-launched bi-monthly vegan degustation. The $150pp dinner will include five snacks, five savoury courses and two desserts, with wine and non-alcoholic pairings available.
The next-generation juicer that you don’t need to clean
If you’re anything like us, one of the most painful things about juicing at home is the inevitable clean up afterwards (even with one of those nifty toothbrushes for picking out pulp. The Silicon Valley start-up has solved that problem for good. Oh, and it involves FedEd, QR codes and a smartphone up, obviously. The Juicero basically takes vacuum-sealed packs of chopped fruits and vegetables and exerts 8,000 pounds of pressure to cold-press the matter into juice. You can then use the vaccum-sealed pulp for whatever you wish. It’s only available in California at the moment, but will role out across American and beyond later this year.
