Home to palm trees and white sand beaches, Port Douglas is one of the most beautiful spots in Australia. Add on a star-studded food festival at a lush beachside resort, and you’ve got yourself the perfect excuse for a holiday. 

Taste Port Douglas will return to Far North Queensland this August 8-11, with a four-day program of stellar food and drink events. Not to name drop or anything, but some top culinary talent will be joining the line-up this year, including Ben Williamson and Louis Tikaram from Qld,  Colin Fassnidge and Manu Feildel from NSW, Laura and Max Sharrad from SA, Massimo Mele from Tas, and Adam D’Sylva, Jerry Mai and Mark Best from Vic, to name a few.

The program will feature a delicious assortment of events, masterclasses and tropical parties, backdropped by the reefs and rainforests of this little pocket of paradise.

The Official Festival Launch Party
Friday, August 9
Rub shoulders with chefs and celebrities at the Taste Port Douglas official launch party, held in the balmy surrounds of Four Mile Beach. Toast the start of the gourmet weekend with free-flowing food and drinks. 

The Lexus Long Lunch
Saturday, 10 August
Celebrity chef Alastair McLeod will host the festival’s signature long lunch, served under a vibrant canopy of Poinciana trees against the backdrop of Dixons Inlet. This year, the brigade of guest chefs will see Telina Menzies, Louis Tikaram, Adam D’Sylva and Julian Hills, serve up a three course feast accompanied with drinks from Jansz Tasmania and Chaffey Bros. Wine Co.

La Dolce Vita: An Italian Long Lunch
Sunday, 11 August
Massimo Mele, Laura and Max Sharrad and Bente Grysbaek will transport diners from the Far North Queensland to the Italian Coast for a family-style feast shared down communal tables. The event will include a live cheese-making demonstration by Sydney-based mozzarella experts Vannella Cheese. 

A Night of Fire at Flames of the Forest
Sunday, 11 August
Nick Holloway of Palm Cove’s Nu Nu restaurant will join forces with top chefs Ben Williamson, Aaron Ward, Julian Hills and Louis Tikaram for a fire-fuelled feast held within the Daintree Rainforest.

Festival Village at Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort
Sunday, 11 August
The Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort will be the setting for this year’s Festival Village, with Four Mile Beach to one side and resort lagoons on the other. Guests will enjoy a day of live cooking demonstrations and masterclasses, pop-up food and drink stalls from the participating chefs, local distillers and brewers, live music, roving performers and more.

Watch the sun set over the Coral Sea as the 2024 festival comes to an end. Indulge in tropical drinks and snacks to a soundtrack of live music, performances and DJs.

Taste Port Douglas will be held from August 8-11, 2024 in Port Douglas in Far North Queensland.
