"This is my ultimate chocolate smoothie when I’m craving a little chocolate therapy," says Teresa Cutter. This recipe is an edited extract from Earth To Table by Teresa Cutter (The Healthy Chef, $49.95). It is available from thehealthychef.com.
Ingredients (8)
- 1/2 ripe avocado
- 1 cup (250ml) almond milk or water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbs protein powder
- 1 tbs raw cacao powder
- 3 fresh medjool dates, pitted
- Handful of ice to blend
- Espresso, sliced banana, granola & cacao nibs to serve, if desired

1.Combine avocado flesh, almond milk, vanilla, protein powder, cacao, dates and ice in a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy.

2.Pour into a glass or a smoothie bowl. Top with espresso, banana, granola and cacao nibs to serve, if desired.
