This pull-apart cheesy loaf turns your Christmas ham into a tasty savoury holiday treat, tailor-made for sharing.

Ingredients (7)

  • 1 sourdough loaf
  • 200g leftover sliced glazed ham
  • 20 picked sage leaves

Cheese mix

  • 200ml creme fraiche
  • 4 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbs chives, chopped
  • 100g Gruyere cheese, grated, plus extra, to scatter

Method

  • 1.
    Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced. For the cheese mix, place the creme fraiche, mustard, chives and Gruyere in a bowl. Season to taste and mix to combine. Set aside.
  • 2.
    Using a serrated knife cut incisions in the bread, every 5cm without cutting through to the bottom. Spread the cheese mixture in between the cuts and insert sage leaves and ham. Wrap in foil and bake on a tray for 15-20 minutes, until the cheese has melted and the bread is crisp and mixture has melted. Scatter with extra Gruyeere to serve.
