Classic sour
The sour is one of the primary cocktail templates, containing a spirit, citrus, sweetener, and often an egg white. This is an edited extract from Spirited by Adrienne Stillman (RRP $69.96). Photography by Andy Sewell.
Ingredients (3)
- 2 oz (60 ml) spirit of choice, such as gin, vodka, tequila, etc.
- 3/4 oz (22 ml) fresh lemon juice
- 3/4 oz (22 ml) simple syrup
Don't forget you can add these ingredients to your Woolworths shopping list.

1.Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds, or until frosted on the outside. Strain into a coupe.
