Big on flavour, quick on time – these 7 dinner recipes are everything we’ve been looking for. And as Adam Liaw, preaches, simple is always best. Here’s how you can give your cooking a refresh, with a few easy-to-follow dishes.
After months in lockdown, and a pretty dreary 2021 behind us, 2022 is time for a cooking revamp. That’s right, we’re giving our kitchen repertoire a face-lift. And what better way to refresh than with the basics.
Thankfully, we’ve got Adam Liaw serving up some inspiration on the screen to really whet our appetite and goad on our food revolution. On The Cook Up, Adam creates simple, moreish meals with some of the nation’s most beloved chefs and well-known personalities. It’s a mix of good food, handy hacks, and scintillating banter. In honour of the show, and our most-anticipated food face-lift, we’ve found 7 simple dinner recipes for every night of the week.

Monday night
After an indulgent weekend, Mondays are for absolving, right? When it comes to fresh, nothing speaks to us quite like clean Japanese. Try Adam’s marinated tuna rice bowl. It’s buttery and crunchy, salty and hot. And, conveniently, it only takes twenty-five minutes from prep to plate.
Tuesday night
Using pantry staples, chicken thigh cutlets, and spices, this chicken with creamy mustard and sage sauce is simple to throw together. The hidden hero? Leaving the skin on your thighs will give each mouthful the perfect crunch, while the meat is enveloped in a creamy, golden sauce.
Wednesday night
It’s not often you hear the words ‘no stirring’ and ‘risotto’ together, but here you have it. This meat-free option is a mid-week mighty – what’s not to love about butternut, sage, butter, and arborio?

Thursday night
Fresh curry leaves give the perfect cut-through in this spicy fish recipe. And what sings ‘simple’ quite like a 10-ingredient dish?
Friday night
Every beautiful piece of meat deserves attention and love, and this rib-eye recipe is no exception. Luckily, this colourful dish is on the table within 30 minutes, and is the perfect balance of crunch, acidity and salt.

Saturday night
Revel in your weekend relaxation with a dish that’s easy to master, and delivers on flavour with every bite. Elevate your standard cacio e pepe with butter, sage and mushrooms. The whole family will enjoy this one.
Sunday night
One-pot, one-dream. This easy lamb recipe is a set and forget number, and it’s our trusty new fall-back for Sunday evenings. Keeping in mind that it needs a good few hours in the oven, and it’ll be the perfect end to the week as lovely aromas permeate the house.
And there we have a week’s worth of simple, new recipes. All easy to master, and perfect for eating around the table, or in front of the telly at 7pm. On SBS. With Adam Liaw.
Newscorp and SBS Food have partnered to serve up some everyday inspiration for foodies and non-foodies alike to launch the new season of The Cook Up with Adam Liaw. Watch weeknights at 7pm on SBS Food and stream free on SBS On Demand from March 21st.
