Breakfast is the most important meal of the day so make it really nutritious with this tasty granola.

Ingredients (14)

  • 1/3 cup (80g) firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 3/4 cups (330g) rolled oats
  • 3 cups (225g) wheat flakes
  • 2 tablespoons toasted pumpkin seeds*
  • 2 tablespoons linseed*
  • 5 tablespoons (100ml) sunflower oil
  • 1 cup sultanas
  • 1/4 cup chopped dates
  • 1/2 cup dried banana
  • 1/2 cup roasted hazelnuts
  • 2 tablespoons roasted cashews
  • 1/4 cup slivered roasted almonds
  • Thick yoghurt, honey and fresh fruit, to serve

Method

  • 1.
    Preheat the oven to 170°C.
  • 2.
    Combine the sugar honey, oats, wheat, pumpkin seeds and linseed with oil, spread onto a large baking tray and toast, stirring every 10 minutes to prevent catching, for 30-40 minutes or until golden. Remove and allow to cool.
  • 3.
    Toss with remaining ingredients and store in an airtight jar for up to 2 weeks. Serve with yoghurt, honey and fresh fruit, and milk if desired.
