Honey, beer and rye lavosh
Make your own lavosh bread and woo dinner party guests with the perfect cheese platter.
Ingredients (6)
- 2 1/2 cups (300g) dark rye flour
- 1/3 cup (80ml) extra virgin olive oil, plus extra to brush
- 2/3 cup (160ml) dark ale or other beer
- 2 tbs honey
- 1/3 cup (50g) black sesame seeds
- Fromage d’affinois, to serve
Method

1.Preheat oven to 180°C. Combine flour, oil, ale, honey and 2 tsp salt in a large bowl.

2.Turn out onto a work surface and knead until smooth (add more flour if too sticky).

3.Divide dough into 8 balls. Roll 1 ball out between 2 sheets of baking paper until 1mm thick.

4.Transfer on baking paper to a baking tray, brush with oil, then scatter with sesame and salt flakes. Repeat.

5.Bake for 20 minutes or until crisp and dry. Set aside to cool completely, then serve with d’affinois.
