Ice cream with amaretti and espresso chocolate sauce
Take icecream with chocolate sauce to new heights with the addition of espresso and amaretti.
Ingredients (5)
- 300ml pure (thin) cream
- 200ml espresso
- 300g dark chocolate, broken into pieces
- 1L good-quality vanilla ice cream
- Amaretti biscuits, to serve

1.To make the espresso chocolate sauce, place the cream and coffee in a heatproof bowl and stir until combined. Add the chocolate pieces and place over a pan of gently simmering water (don’t let the bowl touch the water), stirring constantly, for 2-3 minutes until the chocolate has almost melted. Remove from the heat and stir until smooth. Allow to cool slightly.

2.Pour a little chocolate sauce into each serving glass, place a scoop of ice cream on top and crumble amaretti over the top. Pour remaining sauce into a jug. Serve ice cream with extra sauce and amaretti.
