Make-ahead marsala gravy
For a twist on classic gravy, try this make-ahead marsala version.
Ingredients (6)
- 30g unsalted butter
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons plain flour
- 1 cup (250ml) each gravy (see note) and chicken stock
- 1/3 cup (80ml) dry white wine
- 1/4 cup (60ml) dry marsala (fortified wine)
Don't forget you can add these ingredients to your Woolworths shopping list.

1.Melt butter in a pan over medium heat. Cook onion for 5 minutes or until starting to colour. Add flour and stir for 30 seconds, then stir in gravy, stock and wine. Bring to the boil, then simmer over low heat for 5 minutes. Add marsala, cook for 1 minute and season. Keep chilled, then warm over medium heat to serve.
