Milo and oat slice
"This Milo slice is nut free. It’s so nice to add different dried fruit to the mix to bring different colours and flavours!” – Carina La Delfa

Method

  • 1.
Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Grease a 20cm square cake pan and line base and sides with baking paper.
  • 2.
Combine rolled oats, flour, Milo, sugar and coconut in a large heatproof bowl. Place the butter and honey in a small saucepan over medium heat and stir until melted and combined. Bring just to the boil (don’t let it come to a rolling boil), then pour over the dry mix and stir to combine.
  • 3.
Spoon mixture into prepared pan. Using the back of an oiled spoon, press down firmly to flatten. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. As soon as it’s out of the oven, use the back of a large spoon to pack it down firmly. Be careful, as it will be hot.
  • 4.
Set aside to cool in pan, then cut into bars.
