Looking for the perfect cocktail to serve your guests this weekend? This strawberry margarita recipe is just the thing. ´Super-easy to make, this simple recipe uses frozen strawberries and freeze-dried raspberry powder to get that sharp and bright flavour with a splash of tequila and Cointreau to add a boozy buzz. Vibrant, fun and incredibly delicious, this cocktail recipe is sure to become everyone's new favourite.

- 500g frozen strawberries, thawed
- 1/2 cup (110g) caster sugar
- 1/2 cup (110g) caster sugar
- 100ml triple sec (we used Cointreau)
- 1/2 cup (125ml) lime juice, plus 1 extra lime half
- 1 tbs salt flakes
- 1 tsp freeze-dried raspberry powder
- Ice cubes, to serve
- Fresh strawberries, to serve

1.Place the thawed strawberries, sugar and 1/2 cup (125ml) water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5-7 minutes until softened. Transfer to a heatproof blender (if not using a heatproof blender, cool to room temperature before blending). With the steam cap on, whiz until smooth. Strain through a fine sieve into a measuring jug and discard pulp.

2.Pour 400ml of the strawberry syrup into a 4-cup (1L) capacity jug. Add tequila, triple sec and lime juice and chill for 1 hour.

3.On a small plate, combine the salt and raspberry powder. Rub the rim of each glass with the extra lime half then dip into the salt and raspberry mixture to coat.

4.Add ice to the jug and glasses and serve. Garnish with fresh strawberries.
