If you’re looking for something a little different to serve your guests this year, try the turducken. An enticing combination of marinated turkey, chicken and duck – it's the perfect, unique alternative for Christmas Day and a guaranteed talking point.

Ingredients (5)

  • 1 free-range Turducken
  • Oil spray
  • 1 kg Golden Delight potatoes
  • ⅓ cup oil
  • 80g butter

Method

  • 1.
    Preheat oven to 170°C. Remove film from turducken tray. Spray meat with a little oil. Cover with foil. Bake for 1 hour. Remove foil. Cook for a further 30 minutes.
  • 2.
    Meanwhile, cook the potatoes in a saucepan of boiling, salted water for 20-25 minutes or until just tender. Drain and cool slightly.
  • 3.
    Combine oil and butter in a baking dish. Heat in oven for 3-5 minutes. Add potatoes and turn to coat. Season with salt. Bake, turning occasionally, for 35-40 minutes.
  • 4.
    Rest meat for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with roast potatoes.
