At this Thailand retreat the animals are watching the humans enclosed in (albeit luxury) captivity.
Like a zoo in reverse, at this Thailand resort the elephants are free to roam and watch the humans behind their cosy bubbles.
Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort is providing guests the chance to observe elephants in their natural habitats, while they unwind inside their transparent ‘Jungle Bubbles’.

Spread over 160 acres of Northern Thailand jungle, the camp looks over the Mekong and Ruak rivers from its hilltop position.
Custom designed for the resort, the polyester bubbles have been made using ‘Precontraint Serge Ferrari technology’ to create a space where guests can take in elephants at play by day, and a blanket of stars by night.
Never fear, the bubbles are air conditioned ad provide 22 square metres of space. A bedroom and living space are sheltered by a transparent roof, and – because we know you were wondering – unlike at a zoo, your private ensuite and shower are not transparent.

And this is no roughing-it camping experience. Inside your bubble is a bathrobe and slippers, crisp white bed linens, feather pillows and luxury bathroom products. Naturally, you hold the key to your enclosure.
Rates start from roughly $850.00 per night for two people, which includes a dinner basket, a fully stocked mini bar, 24-hour in-room dining services and tea and coffee making provisions.

Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort, along with the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation (GTAEF), set up its camp primarily to help elephants. Activities allow the elephant caretakers to raise the funds they need to look after the elephants without forcing them into activities they might not enjoy.
