This summer, Harbour Street’s Darling Quarter is partnering with Warner Bros. Discovery to celebrate 100 years of Warner Bros. Studio. To mark the centennial anniversary there will be a free – yes, you read that right, free! – open air cinema set-up in the buzzing dining precinct from January 12-29. Nightly screenings will feature blockbuster films, family favourites and Oscar-winning classics.

The Matrix will be playing at 6pm on opening night, followed by a weekend of Harry Potter screenings across 6pm and 8.45pm sessions. The following weeks will include viewings of the newly released Black Adam, Wonder Woman, The Dark Knight and many more fan favourites. To celebrate Lunar New Year there will be a special screening of Crazy Rich Asians on January 22. There will also be family-friendly screenings of Space Jam and the Secret Origin of the Batwheels, with special activities before the show starts, just in time for the school holidays.

When it comes to food there’s new 15 restaurants, eateries and al fresco dining overlooking Tumbalong Park. You can preorder and Click & Collect dinner and snacks to enjoy during the movie from the likes of Dopa, Doodee Noodle, Gelatissimo, and more, or make a restaurant reservation and dine before or after the show. Drinks including beer, wine and soft drinks are also available to purchase from a pop-up bar.

To secure tickets for this event all you have to do is register online in advance. You can also reserve free bean bags and picnic rugs. There will be space set aside for walk-ins who want to bring their own rugs and chairs, but it is recommended you arrive early as it will be a first come first seated basis and there is a limited number of spaces available.
