No hogging the doona! You can now watch a movie in bed at Barangaroo

280 tonnes of sand, 150 beds, and one heck of a backdrop.

Get ready for the comfiest, cosiest, most glittering outdoor movie experience this summer as Barangaroo’s Harbour Park is transformed into a beachy-keen theatre, complete with beds, blankets, and buds.

Opening on Friday, January 12 Mov’in Bed at Barangaroo will be showcasing new release films and classic favourites through April 14. The pop-up cinema will transform Barangaroo’s Harbour Park into a city beach, where 280 tons of white sand is laid out with 150 plush queen-size cloud-like beds and the largest outdoor screen in Australia.

Let your hair down with family-friendly sessions of the Trolls movie, catch Joaquin Phoenix at his own beachy exile in Ridley Scott’s Napoleon, or see Barbie smash the patriarchy (while Ken is, presumably, on lifeguard duty at beach).

If you want to spice things up in bed, check out the VIP package where you’ll have unlimited free popcorn, bubbles on arrival and your own butler and exclusive access to the VIP food offering.

Dress-up nights will be on the bill, as well as DJs spinning theatrical tunes from 6pm until movie time at 8:30pm. Intermissions will be held for snack refills during particularly long screenings and the Mov’In team will be partnering with various restaurants to keep you fed and watered all night.

Mov’In Bed will run from January 12 – April 14, 202 at Barangaroo Harbour Park; Hickson Road, Barangaroo. Tickets start from $12 for students and concessions, up to $75 per person. For the full line-up and to book tickets head to movinbed.com
